I have been working with The Bee Publishing Company as a typesetter (graphics and layout designer) for their weekly paper, Antiques & The Arts. Here, I have been assembling text and photos on pages to create visuals that are easy for readers to digest. A lot of this process is considering body copy lengths and image quantities when filling a page, determining if images and text need resizing, mmaking sure captions align with the photo they represent, and ensuring the relationship between the text and photos is cohesive, all while maintaining the pre-established style guidelines.
Below I have featured some of my work.
This includes covers and lead features, one and multi-page spreads (Post-Auctions and Interior Stories), and special sections such as Historic Homes and Properties, International (art news from around the world), Across the Block (features the highest-paid-for antiques from recent shows), and Transitions (a column showcasing individuals who have recently started or left positions, along with changes in the art world).
